Webshare is a self-serve proxy provider. You sign up, pick a plan from a published price list and start using proxies, without a sales call. It sells three kinds of proxy, datacenter, static residential (ISP) and rotating residential, and it keeps a permanent free plan of 10 proxies so you can try it before paying.
That positions it at the budget end of the market, next to providers like IPRoyal and DataImpulse, and well below the enterprise platforms such as Bright Data and Oxylabs on entry price.
What Webshare Sells
| Product | What it is | Entry price | Pricing model |
|---|---|---|---|
| Proxy Servers | Datacenter IPs | $2.99/month for 100 proxies | Per proxy, monthly, 250 GB bandwidth included |
| Static Residential | ISP IPs that stay the same | $6/month for 20 proxies | Per proxy, monthly |
| Rotating Residential | A pool of home IPs that changes per request or session | $3.50/GB on a 1 GB plan | Per GB, monthly plans |
| Free plan | 10 proxies | $0 | 1 GB of bandwidth a month |
Webshare also sells private and dedicated versions of its datacenter and ISP proxies, listed per IP, for buyers who don't want to share IPs with other customers.
Datacenter proxies
Webshare's "Proxy Servers" are its datacenter product, and they're the cheapest way in. The pricing page lists $2.99 a month for 100 proxies, falling per proxy as plans grow: 10% off at 1,000 proxies, 25% off at 10,000 and 40% off at 60,000 and above. Paid plans include 250 GB of bandwidth, and Webshare offers unlimited bandwidth under a fair-use policy.
Webshare's homepage claims a pool of 400K+ datacenter IPs and 99.97% uptime. Those are Webshare's own figures; we haven't measured them.
Datacenter proxies are the right first try for sites that don't block hosting networks. Our guide to residential vs datacenter proxies explains how to tell when they're enough.
Static residential (ISP) proxies
Static residential proxies keep the same IP but register as home connections. Webshare names Comcast and AT&T among the ISPs. The pricing FAQ puts them at $6 a month for 20 proxies ($0.30 each), falling to $0.225 per proxy at 10,000. They suit long sessions and account work, where a changing IP would raise flags. See ISP proxies for when to use them.
Rotating residential proxies
The rotating residential pool is where Webshare competes with the budget residential providers. Its residential page lists:
- 80M+ residential IPs in 195 countries, which it describes as ethically sourced from selected partners.
- Targeting by country, state, city, ZIP code and ASN.
- HTTP and SOCKS5 endpoints.
- Per-GB pricing on monthly plans: $3.50/GB at 1 GB, $2.75 at 10 GB, $2.25 at 100 GB, $1.75 at 500 GB, $1.50 at 1,000 GB and $1.40 at 3,000 GB.
The plans are monthly subscriptions sized in GB, not top-up balances. That suits steady, predictable use. If your scraping comes in bursts, a provider with non-expiring traffic such as IPRoyal may waste less.
The Free Plan
Webshare's free plan gives you 10 proxies and 1 GB of bandwidth a month, with no time limit and no credit card. That's enough to wire up your scraper, check that a target accepts the IPs and measure response times yourself before you pay for anything. It's an unusually generous way to evaluate a provider, and the reason to start here if you're unsure.
How to Connect
Webshare's connection docs describe two ways to connect:
- Direct. Each proxy has its own address and port, listed in your dashboard and the API. You authenticate with a username and password, or authorise your own IP so no credentials are needed.
- Backbone. One rotating endpoint,
p.webshare.io, on port 80, 1080, 3128 or 9999–19999. Options go in the username: a two-letter country code such as-us, a city such as-city_los_angeleson residential plans,-rotatefor a new IP on every request, or a numeric session ID such as-1234to keep the same IP.
From the docs, a US sticky session and a rotating Los Angeles IP look like this:
# US, sticky session 1234
curl --proxy "http://myuser-us-1234:[email protected]:80/" https://ipv4.webshare.io/
# US, Los Angeles, new IP on every request
curl --proxy "http://myuser-us-city_los_angeles-rotate:[email protected]:80/" https://ipv4.webshare.io/
-rotate and a session ID can't be combined. Our guide to rotating proxies shows the same patterns in Python and Node.js.
Billing and Refunds
- Yearly billing saves 30% compared with monthly, per the pricing page.
- Plan changes can be made at any time during the month; you pay the difference.
- Cancelling means switching to the free plan from the dashboard.
- Refunds are available only within 2 days of the original payment, and only if bandwidth use is below 1 GB on Proxy Server or Static Residential plans (0.1 GB on Rotating Residential) and you've used fewer than 1,000 proxies. The free plan is the better way to test.
What Webshare Doesn't Do
Webshare sells proxies, not unblocking. There's no Web Unlocker-style product, no CAPTCHA solving and no scraping API, so your scraper handles retries, headers and browser rendering itself. Webshare also doesn't list mobile proxies. If your targets block plain proxies, look at an unblocker such as the Bright Data Web Unlocker or a scraping API such as Scrape.do or ZenRows.
Who It's For
Webshare fits developers and small teams who want cheap IPs, published prices and no sales process: datacenter proxies for cooperative sites, ISP proxies for stable sessions, and a residential pool for the targets that block hosting networks. It's a weaker fit when the hard part is getting past bot protection, because it sells the IPs and leaves the rest to you.

Our Score: 4.0/5
This score is based on Webshare's published pricing, plans and documentation, not on hands-on testing. Against the criteria on our how we test page:
- Value: strong. The lowest entry prices of any provider we cover, and a free plan.
- Transparency: strong. Prices, the free plan and refund terms are all published.
- Developer experience: good on paper. The connection docs are clear, with copy-ready examples. We haven't tried the setup ourselves.
- Effectiveness and support: not assessed. We haven't used Webshare against real targets or contacted its support, so these don't raise or lower the score.
It sits between our ratings for IPRoyal (4.2) and DataImpulse (4.0): lower prices count in Webshare's favour, while having no mobile proxies or unblocker counts against it.
